V–A–C Sreda online magazine continues its three-month series of podcasts dedicated to the place, role, and transformation of sound in contemporary art and everyday life.
In this episode, we present an audio piece I Am Acting in a Room by sound artist, researcher, and curator Gleb Glonti. The composition is filled with various everyday sounds — the clinking of dishes, the hum of passing cars, sighs, and phone notifications — which come together to form a unified narrative structure. Through background noises that usually go unnoticed, Glonti’s work explores everyday space and echoes the performance I Am Sitting in a Room (1969) by American composer Alvin Lucier.
